Founded in Florence in the 80s, its history is built around the gardens and the continuous research for excellence, which for years has positioned Frontera at the forefront of landscape and garden design.

Thanks to botanical and architectural knowledge, research and innovation, from the hospitality sector, to parks, private villas and historic homes, Frontera has left its mark with gardens alongside important luxury hotel brands.

Our Story

Frontera was born as a family business and is synonymous with excellence in the Italian art of Landscaping.

Since de beginning, the company has been inspired by the desire to explore new horizons, accompanying a word in motion with its emblematic gardens.

Thanks to the twenty-year collaboration with Belmond, of which Frontera is regional manager for Italy and Spain, real botanical jewels have been created, such as the gardens of Villa San Michele in Florence, hotel Cipriani in Venice, hotel Splendido in Portofino, Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina, Hotel Caruso in Ravello, and La Residencia in Palma de Mallorca.

We specialize in the design and construction of parks and gardens, villas, historic houses, boutique hotels and resorts.

Frontera takes care of all the phases of garden creation: Design and planning, choice and production of essences, planting and maintenance.

Over the years, Frontera has trained its operating team of specialists including gardeners, arboriculturists and technicians for irrigation systems, who work synergically for the realization of the projects.

With its own team of experts, Frontera is able to design and implement any project, from the most extensive masterplan, to the smallest and most detailed gardens.

LUIGI FRONTERA

Founder & President

Luigi is the founder of the company, with over 30 years of experience in nursery gardening, design and construction of parks and gardens. Among the most important realized there are real botanical jewels such as the gardens of Villa San Michele in Florence, Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Hotel Caruso in Ravello and Gran Hotel Timeo in Taormina.
His presence determines the success of the company, meeting with the members of the Board of Directors to evaluate the direction, develop short and long-term objectives, plans and strategies and ensure that the company follows its mission.

FRANCESCO FRONTERA

General Manager & Project Director

Francesco is the managerial figure of reference, thanks to the roles covered in important companies. In his background he has a degree in Economics, MBA International Business and a Master in Landscape & Garden Design. He is responsible for customer relations to discuss projects ideas, create job estimates and establish budgets. He is responsible for overall project management, financial and administrative supervision, communication, monitoring and evaluation of the projects.

LORENZO FRONTERA

Landscape Operations Manager

Lorenzo is responsible for the company’s operating area. With over 10 years’ experience he coordinates and supervises the implementation of the projects. Among its main activities such as the organization of work teams, the planning of daily work activities and the monitoring of the work done. He is the figure responsible for the training of workers, in particular as regards work and safety procedures.

CAROLINA FRONTERA

Marketing & PR Manager

Carolina manages and develops the marketing strategy for the company, including coordinating marketing campaigns, creating and publishing all the marketing material on social networks.
She has overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity, she works closely with customers and suppliers to maintain effective communications and develop potential strategic relationships with partners.
